for the 2008 Democratic National Convention

Oregon will choose 65 delegates and 9 alternates to the Democratic National Convention in Denver.

On June 7, there will be a District Convention in each of Oregon's 5 Congressional Districts. Any registered Democrat may file to be a voter at the Congressional District Convention in the District he or she lives in. At the Congressional District Conventions, each district will elect a defined number of Delegates and Alternates to the National Convention. Each district will also elect a define number of delegates to represent the district at the State Convention on June 21, 2008.

On June 21, there will be a State Convention. The delegates elected at the 5 Congressional Districts Conventions meet there and elect:

• a number of delegates at-large to the National Convention
• a number of "Party Leader/Elected Officer" (PLEO) delegates to the National Convention. To file for this position, you must hold a qualifying office. See offical rules for details.

That makes a total of 5 positions that Oregon Democrats may file for, listed below. Note that you must file even to just vote in the CD district conventions.

• A voting delegate to the Congressional District Convention in the CD you live in, on June 7, 2008. Each of the 5 CDs will hold a meeting on the same day. To be able to vote at those meetings, including voting for yourself, you must file.
• A candidate for election as a voting delegate to the State Convention, to be elected at the 5 CD District Conventions, on June 7.
• A candidate for election as a voting delegate to the National Convention, to be elected at the 5 CD District Conventions, on June 7.
• A candidate for election as a voting delegate to the National Convention from Oregon at large, to be elected by the voting delegates at the State Convention on June 21.
• A candidate for election as a voting delegate to the National Convention from Oregon as a Party Leader/Elected Officer (PLEO), to be elected by the voting delegates at the State Convention on June 21.
