Candidate Statement:

I believe totally in the goals set forth in the Oregon Democratic Party Platform for '08 and I believe I can be a strong voice for many of the goals set forth.

I have worked for the Democratic Party of Clackamas County, the Oregon Trail Democrats and the "Hillary for President" campaign in particular, in many capacities. No task has been too small, no responsibility has been too great. I believe I am have the ability to continue to serve those running for office in an even greater capacity by bringing my knowledge and experience to the convention floor to reaffirm the causes they and we are fighting for.

As a farmer I experienced the impact of foreign trade with no restrictions devastating the market for my product.
As a person disabled by a genetic illness I understand the needs of the handicapped in order to live a normal life, to have the Patriot act constantly challenge me and my equipment.
As a person with extensive medical and drug bills I have a first hand knowledge and have researched the problems with our medical system and how other developed countries have succesfully dealt with this problem.
As a Senior I bring a strong voice to the table, I know first hand the problems with Social Security, Medicare and the Part D drug program and have spoken up at countless public forums on this program designed by the insurance. industry. I know what it is to have a my medical care decided by politicians in Congress.
As a professional in Community Mental Health I have seen poverty wreck havoc on a family. Our failing economy is increasing these problems as more lay-offs, rising prices and fuel costs take their toll on our communities.

Hillary Clinton stands strong for these issues and how they impact us. I know these issues and will stand strong for HILLARY!
