| My Statement |
My name is Walt Dawson. I am a lifelong resident of Falls City, Oregon, although I am currently a graduate student at Oxford University. I am running to be a pledged delegate for Barack Obama because I believe he should be the next President of the United States.
Barack Obama represents a new kind of politics that we so desperately need in America. We have had enough of the Bush Administration’s divisive politics. It is time to move forward with a President who can unite us at home and with the rest of the world. Barack Obama is that candidate. Obama is the best candidate to challenge Senator McCain in the general election. Barack’s campaign is about hope and change, while McCain represents the same-old, same-old of the past eight years. We need a Democratic candidate who stands in stark contrast to the Republican nominee. Barack Obama is that candidate. Obama represents the future of the Democratic Party. Barack’s strongest support comes from youth and minority voters. Without their support both the future of the Democratic Party and the American democratic system is in jeopardy. It is time to mobilize these groups with a candidate with whom they can identify. Barack Obama is that candidate. I am proud to support Barack Obama as the Democratic nominee for President. Moreover, I would be honored to represent Oregon and the 5th Congressional district at this year’s Democratic National Convention. Please vote for me as Oregon's 5th district delegate. If you have any questions about me or why I support Barack Obama, please feel free to contact me. | |
