My Statement
I want to go to the Democratic National Convention in Denver to expand an innovative house party program I’m leading in Oregon for Senator Barack Obama and make it the best in the country. In just three weeks, we organized 156 events that introduced the Obama campaign to 3,172 guests, recruited 587 volunteers, and raised $40,738.

As a convention delegate, I will strengthen my relationships with national campaign staff and delegates from other states I will use these ties to bring new resources back to our state and expand the Obama house party program to reach out to thousands more Oregonians.

My top political goal is to help Democrats win back the White House. To accomplish this, I’ve spent countless volunteer hours creating grass roots programs that have laid the foundations for victory this November. My accomplishments include:

  • Leading a house party program in Oregon for Senator John Kerry in 2004 that raised $524,580 at 684 events that attracted 17,280 guests and recruited 2,405 volunteers.

  • Chairing the Democratic Party of Oregon’s Finance Committee in 2005, overseeing the raising of $675,000.

  • Founding and chairing the Democratic Party of Oregon’s Faith Caucus in 2006, and managing a faith outreach effort cited as a model by the Democratic National Committee.

I would be honored to have one of your male votes. Thank you!
