| My Statement |
2008 is the year of change. I am well practiced at this.
When I became Chair of the Democratic Party of Clackamas County we had 60 Precinct Committee People. Today we have 200+ Precinct Committee People and 150+ neighborhood leaders. All of these committed Democrats will be working to elect Democrats up and down the ticket. This is change in action! As Chair of the Platform and Resolutions Committee in 2006 I led the reform of the platform process making it more relevant to all Democrats including our candidates and elected officials. We now have a concise statement and a well defined legislative agenda. This is change working! As Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of Oregon my work on the Administrative Committee has given the County Chairs and Vice Chairs a strong voice in the state party. My work and elected official experience brings knowledge and understanding to the difficult decisions, including staff selection, we must make in administering the Democratic Party. Working as a team, the Administrative Committee works daily to lead the Democratic Party to victory in 2008 and beyond. This is change revolutionized! The biggest change is going to happen in August in Denver when Barack Obama is nominated by the Democratic Party to be the next President of the United States. We can do this because we are ready at the grassroots. We must work to send Democrats to Washington, Salem and all of our local governments. This will be an exciting change! I humbly ask for your vote as a delegate to the National Convention in Denver. | |
